Wenham - Wenham - With great sadness, we are heartbroken to announce the passing of Richard Breen, who died on August 2nd after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. Richard graduated from Northeastern University with a Masters degree in mechanical engineering. He worked at Polaroid for nearly 30 years and later went on to become a retail store owner, retiring in 2020.
He is survived by his wife, Aletta. They spent their 25 years of marriage in Gloucester, meeting new people, having great times and collecting so many good friends and memories. Richard and his wife were longtime members of the Gloucester Elks. His other passions were reading, cooking, and spending time with family.
He was the son of the late Richard Breen, Sr. and Lorraine Breen (Zanoni) of Maine. He is survived by his daughter Nicole, grandson Joshua, brothers Jim and David Breen, sisters Jane Breen, Cheryl (Bob) Glatt, Carol (Greg) Wilson.
At Richard's request, services will be private.
