Richard Jameison Obituary

Gloucester - A lifelong resident of Gloucester, MA and a graduate of Gloucester High School class of 1960. Richard passed away after a brief illness surrounded by family.

Richard was born in Ipswich, MA in 1942 to the late Alonzo and Eleanor (Carter) Jameison. He joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Michigan serving as a Fire Fighter (crash & rescue). After his service was completed he returned home and enlisted in the United States Coast Guard Reserves serving as Port Security (search & rescue) until his military retirement in 1985. He was also a City of Gloucester Auxiliary Police Officer for many years. During this time he worked full time and completed his college education at NSCC, graduating the night of his daughter's senior prom. He was a devoted husband and father, Veteran, avid boater, and an active member of the Sportsman's Club. He is survived by his daughter Heather wife of Keith Dougwillo, sister Rhonda Murray, brother in law John Ellis his wife Ann, sister in law Anne Parsons and her husband Steven and sister in law Susan Ellis. Also survived by grandchildren Steven Dougwillo and his wife Kelsi Jones and David Dougwillo. Three nephews, four nieces, eight great nephews and four great nieces. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years Jacqueline A. (Ellis) Jameison, brother in law William F. Ellis and great nephew Derek Guest.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
