Merrimack - Richard C. Tofuri, of Merrimack, NH, formerly of Schooner Bay, Ft. Myers, FL, Woburn and Essex, MA, August 12, at 79 years of age.

Born in Winchester, Richard was a son of the late Andrew and Josephine (Tropea) Tofuri. After graduating from Woburn High School, Rich served his country proudly in the United States Air Force until being honorably discharged.

For many years, Rich worked as an engineer for Varian Associates in Beverly, MA. While working there, Rich lived in Essex. He loved being by the ocean and especially sea clamming.

After retiring, Rich moved to Florida, where he volunteered his time, driving the shuttle, for Lee Memorial Hospital in Ft. Meyers, FL.

In his free time he enjoyed, gardening, fishing and cooking for his family. His family was his world and he enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them. He was a devoted, loving and selfless father, grandfather and friend whom will be deeply missed.

Cherished father of Christine Sutton of Merrimack, Richard Tofuri Jr. of Essex, MA, and Paul Tofuri of N. Reading. Dear brother of Andrew Tofuri and his wife Lorna of Texas. Adored grandfather of Danielle, Drew, Mikayla, Kevin, Carly, Tomaz, Josef, Owen, and Gavin.

A funeral will be held in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, on Wednesday, August 18, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, Tuesday, August 17, 4 to 7 p.m.
