Gloucester - Gloucester - Robert Place, 70, of Gloucester, MA, passed away on Saturday, July 26th 2025 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Robert was born in Gloucester on April 8th 1955 to Vernon l. Place and Esther M.(Beeman) Place.
Robert attended Gloucester public schools and graduated with the class of 1973.
After high school Robert worked at Gorton's and then moved on to LePages where he met his wife Mary of 42 years.
Robert was an avid sports fan especially his beloved Red Sox. He was a longtime Little League coach of the Reds and multiple all-star teams.
Robert is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Fred, Jeff, Nathan,and Robert Jr.; grandchildren, Brayden and Jeremy; his brother, Kevin and wife, Mary Anne,sister Betty Jane and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 2nd at the Gloucester Fraternity Club 27 Webster St from 5-8pm
