Roland S. Hadley Obituary
Gloucester - Roland S. Hadley, 80, of Gloucester, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 11, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.
Ron was the devoted husband of Deborah Roossin Hadley and the proud father of his twin children, Blair and Duncan Hadley. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Joel Roossin, and Duncan's partner, Jennifer Waitkus. His life was anchored in dedication to those he loved, and his daughter held a particularly special place in his heart. Everything he built, accomplished, and worked toward was done with family in mind.
Ron dedicated 28 years of honorable service between the United States Army and the National Guard, including a tour in Vietnam, retiring with the distinguished rank of Lieutenant Colonel. A lifelong believer in discipline and growth, earning his undergraduate degree at Bentley College and his MBA in Finance from the University of Santa Maria. After concluding his years of service, Ron built a respected career in finance, where his sharp mind, experience and strong work ethic continued to distinguish him.
For 57 years, Ron was a proud and dedicated Master Mason, faithfully upholding the values of brotherhood, service, and moral character. He believed in living by example; through hard work, loyalty, and integrity rather than words.
Ron found his greatest peace at his cherished property in West Gloucester. There, he could often be found riding his tractor or golf cart, tending to his land with care, and relaxing in his den with his beloved Willow dog and sweet Gigi. From an early age, he was captivated by steam engine trains, an interest that remained a quiet joy throughout his life.
Ron was not a man who sought attention or praise. Instead, he lived with steady devotion — to his country, his work, his community, and most of all his family. His legacy is one of service, honor, and enduring love. His presence will be profoundly missed.
A visitation will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
