Amesbury - Amesbury - Russell C. Mitchell Jr. of Amesbury, MA, husband of the late Mary (McGowan)Mitchell passed away on Sept. 9, 2025.

He was born in Gloucester, MA. on May 30, 1941 to Russell and Geraldine(Enos)Mitchell. He graduated Gloucester High School in 1960. After serving in the army he married Mary and moved to Beverly Farms. He was a hard worker, employed at Maynard Plastics for many years and for the city of Salem, Ma until his retirement. Russell was an avid golf fan and as a young man won a tournament at Bass Rocks Golf Club.

He is survived by his daughters Kelly and Kristen of Amesbury, son Stephen and his fiancé' Becky of S Hampton, NH. Also grandchildren Jordan and Morgan Slattery and two great grandsons Mason and Carter whom he adored. He leaves sisters Paula Moody, Susan Gallant, Eileen Mitchell of Gloucester and Joanne Curreri of Rockport, several nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law Richard Beaman of Florida.

He is predeceased by his parents, sister Donna Beaman, brother-in-law Ronald Gallant, nephews Brian and Michael Moody and niece Tracie Gilliss Santos.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
