Orlando - Ruth Stanwood Knowlton passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada, Ruth raised her family in Rockport and Gloucester, Massachusetts. She later lived in Orlando, Florida, for 37 years before spending the last 21/2 years of her life in Hackettstown, New Jersey, with her daughter, Wendy, and son-in-law, Robert.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Darren Stanwood, and by her husbands, Daniel Stanwood and Donald Knowlton.

Ruth is lovingly survived by her children, Scott Stanwood of West Newbury, MA; Todd Stanwood and his partner, Lou DeCaprio, of West Newbury, MA; and Wendy Thomas and her husband, Robert, of Hackettstown, NJ.

She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Darren Stanwood and his wife, Shawna, of Gloucester, MA; Rachel Timoldi and her husband, Luke, of Hackettstown, NJ; and Josh Thomas and his wife, Hannah, of Hackettstown, NJ.

Ruth was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Hudson and Kingsley Stanwood of Gloucester, MA., and Oliver Thomas of Hackettstown, NJ.

Ruth will be remembered as an accepting, loving, and devoted mother and grandmother, whose deep faith and love for Jesus Christ touched many. Her faith served as a light and testimony to those around her. She will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
