Gloucester - Gloucester - Salvatore P. "Sam" Garrisi, 89, of Gloucester passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, at Blueberry Hill Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Beverly.

He was born in Gloucester on September 15, 1935, son of the late Garland and Angeline (Zerillo) Garrisi.

Sam worked as a custodian for the Gloucester school system and later at the Gloucester Police Department before he retired from the city.

You could always find him watching TV, especially sports, and enjoying rides around the backshore.

He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

Salvatore is survived by his 3 daughters, Julie Garrisi and her partner David Dyjak, Angela Favaloro and her husband Joe all of Gloucester, Patrica Freeman and her husband Robert of Florida; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Anthony Garrisi of California and Joseph Garrisi of Gloucester; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Garrisi; son, Garland Garrisi; grandson, Eric Montgomery; sister, Rose Aiello and brother, Peter Garrisi.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to St. Jude's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
