Gloucester - Gloucester - Samuel J. Favazza, 83, of Gloucester passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Twin Oaks Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Danvers.

He was born in Gloucester, MA on June 22, 1942, son of the late Peter T. Favazza and Rita May (Stickney) Favazza and was a graduate of Gloucester High School.

Sam served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman.

He was a manager in California on a big barge selling live bait along with his loving cat "Erica". He was also a big movie buff and had 10,000 Videos and DVD's dating back to the 1950". In his spare time, he enjoyed eating out, especially going for clams.

Sam will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his brother, Peter Favazza Jr. and his fiancé, Carol Bourgault of Gloucester; his sister-in-law, Phyllis Kennedy; niece, Mary Jane Favazza and her wife Julie Hoebelheinrich; nephew, Peter Favazza III and his wife, Aaron Stewart Favazza; great-nephews, Finn Martin Hoebelheinrich, Nico Jackson Favazza and Peter Favazza IV; uncle, Robert Stone and daughters, Allison, Kelly and Kirsten.

He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Jane Favazza.

Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Burial will be held privately.
