Teresa M. Smith Obituary

Gloucester - Teresa "Terry" M. (Dagley) Smith, age 67, of Gloucester, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Desi E. Smith, with whom she shared 43 years of marriage.

Born in Gloucester, MA, Terry was the daughter of Curtis L. Dagley and Grace M. (Quince) Dagley. Terry was a woman of strong and unwavering faith, which guided every part of her life. She found comfort and strength in her relationship with God, and she shared that light with everyone around her. She had a heart for helping others and was always the first to offer support, whether it was through a listening ear, a helping hand, or quiet acts of generosity. Terry found her greatest joy in life's simple, beautiful moments- especially time spent by the water. She loved boating, the beach, and the peace that came with the ocean air. Those moments brought her happiness, and she cherished sharing them with the people she loved most. Above all, she was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Her love was constant, selfless and unconditional. It will continue to guide and comfort us even in her absence.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace, held in God's presence, and reunited with eternal love.

In addition to her husband, Teresa is survived by her son, Derek Smith and his wife Alexandra of Gloucester; daughter, Jenna L. Smith of Gloucester; mother, Grace Dagley of Gloucester; sisters, Doreen Barbara and her husband Carlo of Gloucester, Lorna Tramontozzi and her husband Luciano of Newton; brother, William Dagley and his wife Cathy of Gloucester; brother-in-law, Brady Smith and his wife Roseann of Kentucky; sister-in-law, Anita White of Gloucester; niece, Nicole Myers, Angelique Barabara, Sarina Barbara, Davya White, Kirsten White, and Marydith Smith; nephews, Christian Dagley and Sean Amero; great nieces and nephews, Courtney MacDougall, Cayden Myers, Olivia Myers, Piper Amero, Noriella Rosa, and Reyes Rosa.

Terry was predeceased by her father, Curtis L Dagley and her sister, Mary Dagley.

A visitation will be held in Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, on Saturday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. A service will immediately follow at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
