William Bill Benson Obituary

Gloucester - Gloucester - Bill spent most of his life as a fisherman, working around the world from catching cod and haddock in the Atlantic Ocean to yellowfin tuna off San Diego, CA, and as far south as New Zealand.

He also fished the Bering sea off Alaska. In addition, Bill worked as a Marine mechanic, maintaining Naval aircraft carrier ships at the San Diego Naval base and later at shipyards in Seattle, WA.

Bill retired to New Hampshire where he spent his remaining years with his wife, Sharron and Family,enjoying motorcycle rides through the mountains enjoying the changing of seasons.

Bill is survived by his wife, Sharron Benson, daughters, Linda Benson Allen, Sherry Benson sons, Bill Benson Jr. David Benson and Son in law Kevin Reilly, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his Sister Patricia Brennan Heim; granddaughter, Jill Allen and several other family members.

Bill will be missed dearly to those who loved him.

No funeral arrangements. Celebration of life to be determined.
