William J. Bertolino Obituary

Gloucester - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William Bertolino, 70, after a long battle with cancer. He died peacefully at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers on Sunday, November 30th. He was the son of the late William and Virginia (Gallo) Bertolino.

William graduated from Gloucester High School and went on to attend Essex Agricultural and Technical School. He aspired to be a chef, working in several local restaurants, and later became a committed shopkeeper and caregiver to many. He loved tending to his garden, but nothing brought him more joy than Christmas, especially, decorating his home and baking the delicious Italian cookies everyone looked forward to each year.

William is survived by two brothers, Angelo Bertolino and Salvatore Bertolino and his wife, Sharon; many cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother; Peter Bertolino; two sisters-in-law, Linda and Provi.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Kaplan Hospice House, Care Dimensions, and Foster Care of Gloucester. A special thank-you goes to Maureen O'Brien-Hidalgo, Ronna Resnick, Jerry Brown, and especially to June Madruga, whose devoted friendship and presence by his side meant so much.

His graveside service will be at Calvary Cemetery in Gloucester, on Monday December 8th at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester. Information, directions, condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com.
